We
suggest that you book a two bedroom apartment, or opt for inter-leading
apartments with a communal entrance if you are travelling with your family. Mouille Point has the most wonderfully quaint attractions that will delight children, of all ages! Located near the V&A
Waterfront and positioned across the road from the sea and the promenade,
guests at Mouille Point Village apartments will have their hands full with
all sorts of activities.
Attractions within walking distance include a putt-putt course,
the kiddies Blue Train and family picnic area, Gelato’s ice-cream
parlour, the promenade, beach, rock pools and a play park.
Mouille Point Village is only 1km from the V&A Waterfront, where there
is a wealth of activities to keep the kids entertained, including the Two Oceans
Aquarium and the Scratch Patch, to name but a few. The two oceans aquarium is
within walking distance, offering hours of entertainment and a family-friendly
restaurant with a supervised play area, allowing Mom and Dad a chance to rest! There
is often a musical or theatrical production happening at the amphitheatre in
the Waterfront to entertain the kids, 14 movie theatres in the shopping centre,
boat trips and much more.
Drive along the exquisite coastal road to Hout Bay
and visit the unique bird and monkey sanctuary named World of Birds, enjoy lunch
in the harbour and then stroll along the beach. Drive along Chapmans Peak
and you’ll arrive at a farm village in Noordhoek, with several restaurants
and a lovely play area or spend the day at Imhoff’s Gift, a farm turned
children’s
paradise with a snake park and camel rides!
Alternatively, take a turn to Boulders Beach in Simonstown close by and
watch penguins swimming with bathers on this unique beach sanctuary. Drop
by scratch patch on the way back and let your children choose their own semi-precious
stones and crystals. Carry on back towards Cape Town via Kalk Bay, an antique
trawlers paradise, and enjoy tea and cake in restaurants situated on the rocks,
with the waves breaking nearby. Take another day to explore the world renowned
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, 528 hectares of gardens that support diverse
fynbos flora and natural forest. If you’re lucky enough to attend a summer
sunset concert on a Sunday, you’ll
be privy to a performance of brilliant local and sometimes international talent.
